Energy 101: Energy Technology and Policy is for anyone who wants to understand more about the world of energy.

It opens with an introduction to energy transitions over time, energy vocabulary, and energy basics. The second section focuses on the different fuels: fossil fuels, renewables, and nuclear resources. The third part focuses on the different end-use sectors, such as electricity, the built environment, and transportation. The fourth section considers different crosscutting factors such as the environment, climate change, water, food, humanity, policy, and conservation.

In the end, making balanced decisions requires a deep understanding of our energy fundamentals. Doing so requires experts who can design effective new technologies and policies. In other words, the world needs people who are fluent in energy and my objective is to create those experts.

• Interactive features, quizzes and videos let you test your understanding along the way.
• All 30 lectures — more than eight hours of video content — from Dr. Webber’s groundbreaking online course are available for streaming.

As an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Deputy Director of the Energy Institute, Co-Director of the Clean Energy Incubator, and Josey Centennial Fellow in Energy Resources, Dr. Michael E.
